The work to rebuild the scoop wheel inlet tunnel is to start in the next few days.
The builders will dismantle the collapsing tunnel and rebuild, before increasing the height of the concrete retaining wall and filling with soil to prevent it collapsing sideways once more.
They will also be repointing some of the brickwork on the boiler room and engine house.
All this work should be completed in time for the first open day in May.
